4 Wheeling

Since Dakota is always all over the place in his jeep.... we thought that we would get Bridger this cute little motorized camo 4-wheeler from Cabelas.
We were so surprised when we put it together and saw how small it was. Supposedly it can hold up to 3 years old and 40 lbs.
Now I know that Bridger is big.... but he isn't close to 40lbs and he looks huge on the little 4-wheeler!!!
He doesn't care though and he is slowly starting to get the hang of it.
My favorite is that he pushes the gas with his little thumb!

BYU's Bean Museum

On Wednesday I decided to take the boys to the Bean Museum over at BYU. It had been raining all day and we just needed something to do. I had not been there in years, and thought that it would be a fun activity... especially due to the fact that it is free.

Dakota seemed to think that it was okay, but cared mostly about the gift shop (seriously... why does everywhere we go have to have one) and the play room.

Bridger on the other hand was in heaven!!!!
Everything was in glass and was at his perfect level to see.
He just ran all over the place pointing with lots of "Oh, Oh".

He could have stayed all day....
it was such a fun activity and will deffinately have to be repeated!!!!
.... possibly while Dakota is at school :)

This Crocodile was Dakota's favorite thing
along with an aunt hill that they had.

Dakota the Artist

The other night Dakota called Scott and I into his room to show us "something"
...... and this is what we found!
He had made a little art show on his wall, and was he ever proud of it???

He has been very into "letters" over the past couple of months.
He knows all 26 and all of their sounds.
He still can't write his name perfectly,
probably due to the fact that he loves to just write letters in random orders.
According to him, his favorite letters are .... R, W, X

This is a snake that he taped to his wall...... very creative if you ask me.

the joys of Friends & Neighborhoods....

Since the weather has suddenly/ finally turned nice Dakota has been outside a lot.... along with the rest of the neighborhood!!!!
I really do love that we have so many young kids on our street, but I do not love the fact that Dakota has to be playing with friends 24 hours a day.
I remember when I was little and wanting to play all of the time and thinking that it was so dumb when my mom would say that I couldn't.
Why did she care????
Well..... now I know and it sucks having kids run in and out of my house constantly. Not to mention that Dakota will just head to a friends house with out telling me.
Ironically, I can remember me and Chantell taking off all of the time. Even going really far on dirt roads to this place where there was a stream that we could play in.
We couldn't understand why it was a big deal that we had failed to mention that we were leaving or where we were going.
Isn't being a mom so much fun?????

The Hoagle Zoo!!!

After much convincing.... I got Scott to take the day off of work on Friday
and we took the boys to the Zoo!

I love when I get to spend the whole day with Scott...
it seems to rarely happen due to me working weekends.

The boys also enjoyed all of the daddy time.
I knew that Dakota would have fun...
but I was surprised by how much Bridger enjoyed himself.
He was so content to walk around and look at all of the animals.

Dakota on the other hand ran from cage to cage asking when we were going to get to the SNAKES and SPIDERS.... that is really all that he cared about.

Bridger wasn't such a fan of being put in the EGG!

My favorite animal was the baby elephant.
Elephants are pregnant for like 30 months... Can you imagine????

Dakota called this a "grass hopper" and insisted on riding on it!
(... pretty scary grass hopper, if you ask me)

Both Dakota and Bridger loved the indoor area that had all of the
snakes, spiders, bats and other reptiles.

We ended the day with lunch at Chilis,
which was probably the highlight for Scott!!!

Fun in the Mud!!!

Today I did 2 things that I rarely do......
yard work
and let my boys play in the mud.

I think that they enjoyed their part more than I enjoyed mine.
After 2 hours of non-stop playing in the sun..... they both fell fast asleep.

Mission Accomplished!!!!
(not to mention that the flower beds look a little cleaner too)

a day at the Dentist....

Today I took both of the boys to the dentist.
Dakota had been before, but it was Bridger's first visit.

It was actually pretty easy... even with Bridger. I just sat in one chair with Bridger on my lap and the dentist just laid his head in his lap and took a look at his teeth (he has like 13)!!!
He cried a little bit, but nothing too traumatic.

Dakota was so good! He went in and got his x-rays all by himself while I was still in the waiting room. Then he just sat in the chair with no complaints. His favorite thing is the water sprayer. He was constantly asking the hygienist for another drink.

The one down side was that Dakota is starting to get a small cavity, but hopefully with good brushing and flossing we won't have to even get it filled.

I imagine that appointment would not go so smoothly....

Dakota's new Bike!

Today Dakota got to go pick out a new bike.

We had one that our neighbors let us borrow, but it was just a little bit too big and Dakota couldn't quite master it.

On the way to Toys R Us he informed me that he would like a Dinosaur bike. I told him that I didn't know what kind they had and that he would just have to wait and see.
He then informed me that he would be okay with an Alligator bike.
I told him that was even less likely.

We finally settled on a Hot Wheels bike that is actually pretty awesome.

Dakota flies on it and I think that he will be ready for the training wheels to come off in no time!

Bridger was so jealous that Scott kept having to push him around on the old bike!
(it is just so hard being the younger brother...)

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom's birthday was on Thursday (April 8th) and I failed to recognize it on my blog....
mostly due to the fact that she would never want me to.

But then my dad sent me this picture of them on the beach in San Diego
(they have been there all week with my little brothers for spring break)

My dad entitled the picture "Still in Love" ohhhh..... how cute!!!!

Happy Birthday Mom, you are the best!!!!!

movie date with my boys

Spring Break has been out of control boring at our house.
With no school or talking time.... we have barely left the house this week. The cold weather earlier in the week didn't help either.
On Tuesday we did go to the pool, but were met with a huge crowd.
So today I decided to take the boys to see a movie. We went right at Bridger's nap time and saw "How to Train your DRAGON" in 3D!
Hurray....... Bridger fell asleep before the movie even started and slept through the entire thing.
Dakota loved it and I was thrilled that it didn't drag on.
This is another nap time activity that I think we will be trying again.

What's with the PINK?

As you can see, I got a new design for my blog.
My last one was super "boyish" so for this design I decided to go a little more feminine for spring and summer.
I was so excited to show Scott and all he said was,
"What is with the pink stuff?"
I was so annoyed.... just because all I have is boys, doesn't mean that my whole life has to blue, green and orange.
What can I say, I am just craving a little pink and flowers in my life!

Yea..... basement completed!

After what seemed like an eternity of workers, noise and dust.....
it finally paid off!

We now have two more bedrooms and an awesome play room.

We also have one more bathroom for Bridger to make a mess in.
Yesterday I found him soaked (hair and everything) in toilet water. The best part is that Dakota had peed and failed to flush.

Dakota loves his new areas to play in, but has been stranded on the toilet a
few times when no one can hear him and he needs wiping assistance:)

Fun at the Park

We have been spending a lot of time at the park over the past week, despite the freezing weather. It is the best way for the puppy to get exercise.... all I have to do it take him there and then get all of the neighborhood kids to run and Yukon is right behind them.
