Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

All day long I get comments on how cute this little boy is....

I am not sure that everyone would feel that way if they got to spend the day with the other version of him. He can throw some mean fits and I am starting to believe that he saves them all for me!!!

Back to School

Dakota started his 2nd year of Preschool this week at Learning Dynamics.
This year he will be going 3 days a week.
I remember last year being so stressed about him starting school and wondering how he would do. This year was a breeze....
he knew just what to do!!!

The night of his first day of school,
he got a special treat....
Scott him for one night of the deer hunt.
Dakota was so excited to put on his camo.
Plus they decided to sleep in the back of the truck, which Dakota loved!

Mommy's little Cowboy!

Last Friday Bridger woke up early like usual....
and Dakota slept in late, like usual.
This provided some serious mom & Bridger time.
I was so surprised when he came running out of Dakota's room with the cowboy hat and horse. He has never played with them before, and it was so cute that he knew exactly what to do with them.
I guess all little boys have some cowboy in them.

Another Bridger favorite is having pictures taken of him
so that he can look at them.
Don't mind me.... remember I had just woken up!

Hobble Creek 1/2 Marathon

Yesterday I ran my 3rd half marathon for the year!
I have always heard amazing things about the Hobble Creek Half so I was super excited.
It was a lot of down hill and super pretty, but boy was it hot!!!!

This one was a little bit more special because Scott ran with me, along with my dad and Autumn.
Of course Scott barely trained at all and still was able to run with me, no problem.

The most amazing part of Scott doing it with me is the fact that it was the opening morning of the Archery Dear Hunt!!!! For anyone who knows Scott....
that is HUGE!!!!

I really wanted to run this race in under a 10 min/ mile which
would be 2 hours and 10 mins.
Scott and I crossed the finish at 2 hours and 9 mins.
Mission Accomplished!!!

Daddy's Boy

On our Anniversary I was having McKenzie take a picture of me and Scott,
when Bridger came running over and parked himself right in the picture.
It was so cute, he knew just where to stand.

The end of SUMMER...

It is crazy that the summer is coming to an end.
It really did fly by, and I could not be happier that fall is almost here.
The last couple of weeks have been super busy for us....

Dakota went has been attending summer preschool at the legacy center which ended last week.
He also played soccer for the past 3 weeks
and finally seemed to have the hang of a sport.
Dakota also learned how to ride his bike without training wheels and has been spending a lot of time with that. I was so impressed with how easy it was for him. We just took them off, and sent him down the drive way. And just like that.... he could ride a 2 wheeler.
Dakota has also started a reptile collection in his room. Over the summer we have somehow acquired 2 lizards "rattle and horny -tail" and a snake named "Jake". It really is turning into a zoo at our house, but the boys love them.

Bridger has been busy too....
he loves, loves, loves being outside.
He has amazingly gotten really good at driving our jeep and riding on a scooter.
He has also decided that he hates getting in the car, and doing so has turned into a nightmare...
I am just praying that his stubborn phase passes quickly.
He and Dakota are really starting to play well together.
The fact that Bridger is basically Dakota's size make wrestling an even match.

For some reason I have been horrible with blogging this summer, but here are a few pics from the past few weeks.

On the last day of summer preschool they had a "Teddy Bear Picnic".
Dakota decided to take his dinosaur.

Alpine Days Fireworks

Saturday night the 4 of us went and watched the Alpine Days Fireworks!
The boys of course loved it....
my mom bought them glowing light sabers,
which they of course liked better than the fire works.

10K at 10K!!!!

Last weekend Scott and I went on a one night camp out.... just the 2 of us!
We camped up Fairview Canyon and it was so quiet and peaceful,
and the best part was there were no bugs which is my least favorite part of camping.
The weather was perfect and it was by far the best camping trip I have been on in a long time.
It is amazing how much easier camping is with out kids.
(not that I don't love them.)

We decided to go to Fairview so that we could run a race that went along Skyline Drive
(one of Scott's favorite places to 4 wheel.)
The race was called "10K @ 10K" because it went up to 10,000 feet.
It was actually a really hard race for me....
the first 2 miles were up hill and I hate HILLS.
But the rest was all down and the scenery was beautiful.
I think that we are going to have to make a tradition of it.

...........................................................................................................................................
Sadly for our babysitter McKenzie,
her weekend was not a walk in the park!!!
Dakota threw up all night and
Bridger had diarrhea along with a diaper rash.
Plus our newest pet snake got lost.
Needless to say, she was happy to leave!

Backyard Campout!!!!

Dakota loves camping of any kind,

even if it means just putting up a tent in the backyard.

Last weekend he and Scott had a little camp out and Dakota was of course thrilled!!!

Dakota begged for us to leave the tent up the next day.
Unfortunately I agreed and later we came home to find,
everything in the tent soaking wet from a huge rain storm....
large holes bitten through the tent,
and one wet, brown lab making himself at home on the sleeping bags!!!
