Christmas 2012

Like usual, I was so sad to see Christmas go....
We had such a great Christmas, very low key and relaxing.
I loved, loved, loved all of ths now on Christmas Eve...
it just wasn't the same last year with out it.

Christmas Eve we had a "Waffle Buffet" at our house and then kept with the Patterson family tradition of seeing a movie, Rise of the Guardians.
After wards we went to my mom's and did PJ's and the sibling gift exchange.
Once we got home I gave each of the boys a snow globe, which is a new tradition that I wanted to start.  They love collecting things and I thought a new snow glob each year would be fun.
Then we set the cookies out and off to bed they went.  It didn't take them too long to fall asleep which was nice for Santa.  Dakota is getting to the age where the excitement is almost too much to handle.

Christmas morning the boys woke up about 7:30 and brought their stockings down into our room.
With only 2 kids, the presents were opened pretty quick.

Dakota's big gifts:
Monster Fighter and Ninjago Lego sets
Bronco blanket and Dream Light
Giant Skylanders

Bridger's gifts:
Bat Cave and Batman figures
Angry Bird blanket and Dream Light
more Giant Skylanders!!!

Playing with their long awaited Giant Skylanders!!!

Dakota was more than obsessed with the Denver Broncos this year.
He has never watched a single game, but he likes to collect the stuff.
On Christmas Eve he told the Santa at my mom's house that he wanted a helmet and jersey.
I new that my mom had gotten him one so I was not worried,
but Christmas morning he couldn't believe that Santa hadn't gotten him one.
He was certain it must be hidden behind the tree :-(

By the time we were headed up to my mom's he was a tad bit mad and decided that he didn't even believe in Santa.  He quickly got nervous saying that and decided that he did believe in Santa.... just not the reindeer!
Luckily I had warned my mom and when we arrived there was a a present with a big tag from Santa.
Ironically Santa had left it in the sleigh at my mom's house just for Dakota.

Merry Christmas!!!!

2012 Holidays

It seems that Christmas has come so fast this year,
and like usual we have stayed super busy with lots of fun.....

We got anew tree which I have absolutely loved,
it is a 10 foot, flocked with long needles.
I really like the softer look that it gives,
but I don't love the flock all over my house.

The boys each had a Polar Express Day at school!!!

Mrs. Claus came to Talking Time to bring Bridger a special message from Santa...

Friday night we road the Front Runner and Trax from Thanksgiving Point up to the lights at Temple Square.
The boys were super chipper and excited on the way there, and super grumpy and tired on the way home. :-(
Not sure that we would do it again, but I am glad that we tried it out.

Dakota made this super cute "Trash Pack" gingerbread house

7.

On November 23rd Dakota turned 7 YEARS OLD!!!!
I can't believe it, that seems so so old.
He takes after his mom and LOVES Birthdays.

Even though I have boys, this is was our first time doing a "sports" themed birthday.
Dakota has been a lot more into sports the last little while and
he decided he wanted a basketball birthday.
He is also really into NIKE, so for presents he got some
Nike Micheal Jordon pants and jacket and a NIKE basketball!!!

His favorite present was a Penny Board....
little does he know, it was a Target knock off. :-)
He could not have been more thrilled,
and we could not be happier to have him in our family.

Happy Birthday Dakota

 Finally getting to Dakota's Birthday.....
This year we did his friend party at JoAnn's Fabric.
It sounds weird, I know....
but Dakota loves doing crafts so when I found out they do parties there,
we couldn't resist!!!

He got to take 8 friends and they made fleece hats and scarfs, and then decorated cupcakes!
Surprisingly, the boys loved it.
And Dakota was all smiles and in heaven being the birthday boy.

Skiing

Over the weekend we went and stayed at my family's condo in Park City.
Dakota was so excited to get to go skiing for his birthday.

It was perfect weather for taking little kids... almost too warm!!!
Although the snow wasn't the greatest, we still had fun.

I have loved skiing so much more since Dakota started last year!
He is getting so good and can go on most runs.
Bridger is slowly getting the hang of it, but tires out pretty quick.
He was so funny, he refused to put his hands on his knees
and insisted on keeping his arms strait out the entire time.

Bridger and I left early and went a hung out at Starbucks.....
This year I am in love with their Carmel Apple Spice!!!!

Red vs. Blue

A few days ago Dakota brought home a flyer about the election, which they have been learning about at school.  On the front was a picture of President Obama and one of Mitt Romney.  Obama's face was circled and Romney's face had a big X through it.  I asked Dakota why he chose President Obama???
He informed me that he likes BLUE, which was the color around Obama.

Last night while I was watching the election returns, Dakota asked me which team I wanted to win, red or blue?  I told him I was rooting for the RED.  He said that he wanted the red team to win also.
Bridger announced that he liked the blue team.
Dakota then informed him that the Blue Team wants to take all of your money!!!! :-)
That was enough to change Bridger's vote.

This morning Dakota asked me which team won?  I told him that Mitt Romney had lost :-(
I told him it was okay and that the person who won was a great person too.
Dakota got excited and yelled.... YEA!!!!

If only I could share in his excitement....
This year I have been hard core, obsessed with the election.  Last night when CNN projected President Obama the winner, I felt physically ill!!! Not so much because I hate Obama, I just love Mitt Romey.

There are very few things that I dislike more than loosing....
But Sore Losers are definitely one of them!
Time to move on and try to learn from Dakota, YEA!!!!!

Loved, loved this picture

Halloween Fun

 Another successful Halloween completed!!!
We were so lucky this year and had perfect weather.
Even though I miss Trunk or Treating in our old ward I do love the house to house Trick or Treating in our new neighborhood.  It reminds me of Halloween when I was little.

Dakota was so excited and could have stayed out for hours,
literally sprinting from house to house.
Bridger was so cute and tried his best to keep up with the big kids, but after about an hour he informed me that he was tired and ready to head home and help give out candy.
