Fall Break

We spent our Fall Break in beautiful Park City with our neighbors the Finlaysons.
Alicia and I took the four boys up on Thursday and hit the
Alpine Slide and Coaster while the weather was still good.
We also took advantage of husband free time at the outlets :-)
Scott and Rick met us on Friday and we spent the rest of the
weekend playing games and enjoying good company!
So much FUN!

the Alpine Loop

On Monday morning Scott and I got a babysitter and headed out on our bikes.
It is not very often that we get to go on long rides together, so we took advantage and decided to go all the way to the summit of AF canyon.

It is only about 10 miles from the booth at the bottom of the canyon to the top,
but the uphill climb makes it seem like forever.

We had fun on the way up and enjoyed all of the awesome trees changing colors.
The way down was anything but enjoyable.  It was so, so, so COLD!
I think that was my last canyon ride for this year!

Snow Canyon

On our way home from St. George
Bridger insisted that we stop by the sand dunes in Snow Canyon.
Such a mess, but always so much fun!!!

Kokopelli

A few weeks ago we went down to St. George and competed in the Kokopelli Triathlon.
Chantell and Ray came with us, along with another family in our neighborhood.

The Tri took place at Sand Hollow Reservoir.  I had never been there before and was impressed with how nice it was.  It was the first lake that I could actually see a few feet in front of me.
The one down side was that there was an outbreak of "Swimmers Itch" which is a parasite that gets in the warm, shallow water.  Luckily none of us ended up with the itch. :-)

It was a great race and I ended up finishing 1st in my age group and 5th overall for the women....
but most importantly, I finally beat Scott by a whopping 10 seconds!!!

All the kids were serious troopers and hung out with
Chantell in the heat the entire race.
They were more than happy to collect on our wins.
