Fun at the Cabin

This past weekend we went to Chantell's family's cabin in Fairview.
We had so much fun.... and like always it was just nice to get away for a few days.
We were able to pack a lot into the 2 days that we were there....

we fished,
golfed,
swam
and most importantly....
just laid around.

It was awesome!!!!

For some reason Bridger could have spent the whole weekend pushing the lawn mower around.
First thing Monday morning, I went and got him his own little mower.

a little of Bridger....

A big mess, or in the bath is how Bridger spends most of his day.
He probably bathes more than any kid alive.....
because everything that he does leaves him a serious mess.
And he could not be happier about it!!!

Happy Father's Day

Sadly for Scott, I had to work this year on Father's Day
I think that I actually worked last year too:(

I think that he enjoyed having me gone.
After church he and Bridger took a nap,
allowing Dakota plenty of free time to make a huge mess!!!!
Normally I would have freaked out, but since it was Father's Day....
I waited until Monday to say anything.

We did have a little party for Scott once I got home.
Dakota really wanted to get him a Snowmobile, so was he ever disappointed to see that all the presents could fit into a small bag.
We also made Scott some cupcake ice cream sandwiches that were so yummy.

Scott really is an awesome dad....
I would never want him to know that any of this is out of the norm but Scott

gets up at night with the boys.... probably more than I do,
changes diapers,
takes the boys on trips by himself,
plays with them,
feeds them,
pretty much, he doesn't even need me!!!!

And that is why I love him so much.

our summer so far....

These 1st couple of weeks of summer have been really busy for us.
Most of this has to do with the fact that the boys have been doing swimming lessons every day at the Lindon pool.
Dakota loves it has been doing great!
Bridger on the other hand has kind of been up and down on how he feels about the pool. I have been doing the mom & tot lessons with him every other day, and it seems that the days that we just watch, he is constantly trying to get in the pool and on lesson days, he is constantly trying to get out!!!
Tomorrow is the last day and as much fun as it has been.... it will be nice to not have to go somewhere every single morning.

Laila (aka Shark Boy) has been doing lessons with Dakota

On Monday we had our 1st outing to the Splash Park.....
Dakota loved it even more than last year,
so I am sure we will go a lot this summer.

Last week Dakota had a day full of friends!!!
Landon came over for the whole day....
they ran through the sprinklers, jumped on Maggie's tramp
and with encouragement from Eli... had a little ice cream party!!!!

So that is what we have been up to so far this summer!!!

Happy Birthday Chantell!!!

Last night Chantell and her family came over for dinner and we had a little birthday party for her.
I can't believe that we are turning 26 this year!!!
I remember when we met and Chantell was 6. Our families were going to Lagoon and I just couldn't figure out why someone would wear such a puffy dress!!!
Now....
Husbands,
Kids,
and 20 years later,

I still can't figure out why someone would wear such puffy skirts,
but we are still the best of friends!!!!

We love you Chantell, Hope you had a Happy Birthday!!!!

Utah Valley 1/2 Marathon!!!

At 4:30 this morning Autumn, my dad & I
headed up Provo Canyon for the UV Half Marathon.

I was really stressed about the rain,
but it ended up being not too bad and
even probably better than if it had been sunny and hot.

I felt so much better at the end of this race
(basically I didn't want to kill myself)
I am not sure that my time was any better...
so that will be my goal for the next one.

There was a full Marathon that started in Walsberg
and the Half started about 6 miles up the canyon.
They both ended at Provo Town Center Mall.

Right as I was finishing,
one of the first Full Marathon runners came across the finish line.
A sad reminder to me that no matter how good I think that I am doing....
there is always someone running Twice as Fast!!!!

Farewell San Diego...

Just a few last pictures from our trip.....

I forgot to mention the fact that Carlsbad is covered in snails......
and Dakota could not have been more thrilled.
At first he liked to step on them, but then he fell in love
and wanted to keep each one that we saw.
We went and picked Strawberries at a field near the beach.
On our last night, we were lucky enough
to have one of Scott's mission companions
and his wife take us out to dinner.
Micah and Tracey live right by where we were staying
and it was so fun to be able to meet up and spend the evening together.
And thanks to his new Bionicles, Dakota actually behaved pretty well too.

Home sweet home!!!!
Our trip was awesome and Dakota hasn't stopped talking about it since we got home.
In fact just today he asked me,
"Mom, remember Lego Land??? That was so cool!"
Yes it was!!!

Lego Land Bionicles!!!

Dakota found a new obsession while on our trip......
BIONICLES
(he refers to them as robots, and he could not get enough of them)
All of our favorite rides were in the Bionicle area of the park,
and they even had a building were you could sit and build them.

By the end of the trip Dakota had the
Yellow, Blue, Black & White Bionicles
and he took them every where we went!!!!

Dakota loved this ride that spun around super fast....
Neither Scott nor I were fans,
but we each took a turn going on it with him.

After completing the Bionicles
they had everyone put them up on a shelf
and show them off to everyone.
Dakota was so proud!!!

mine, Dakota's & Scott's

more Lego Land...

I thought that the best part of the trip was the fact that
Dakota was exactly 42 inches!!!!
He was able to go on any ride in the entire park.... and he did!!!
He went on everything from a huge roller coaster
to a robotic arm that spun around.

Another great part of the trip was the fact that the
park wasn't crowded at all.
Plus we had the private entrance from our hotel,
so we didn't have to wait in lines to get in
and usually could do a few rides before lines started building.

The one challenge was trying
to get Dakota out of all of the awesome play areas
so we could ride rides!!!!

One other small down side was the fact that
most of the rides only allowed 2 people,
and Dakota chose his dad for every single ride!
I was pretty much the third wheel for 4 straight days.

It was amazing all the stuff that were made out of Legos.
Scott was sure that most of the stuff
wasn't really completely made out of Legos.....
but me and Dakota were believers.

As you can see... Dakota was barely tall enough for this ride.
When I would look at the Lego Land website with Dakota
before our trip, he got so excited to dig for dinosaurs.
It is the first thing that he wanted to do when we got there.

We went and saw 2 different 4D movies.
