Washing his HAIR, all by himself!!!!

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

Despite the Extreme Wind..... we had a little Egg Hunt at the park yesterday!!!!!

Of course the kids could care less about the weather and had an awesome time. We could barely hide the eggs before kids were every where, gathering them up!

Dakota of course claims that he got the most eggs by far and spent the rest of the time that we were at the park guarding them with his life!!!!!

Caught in a Tough Spot

I sat on the couch, looking through a magazine, listening to Bridger whine,
for a good 5 minutes before finally going to see what the problem was.

Seriously.... how lucky are my kids to have me for a mom????

(then add the time that it took me to go grab the camera for these shots)

Moab 1/2 Marathon

YEA!!!!! My Half Marathon is DONE!!!!

Last Friday.... my dad, Autumn and I headed down to Moab for the big race. It was so busy down there.... 5000 people ran the race, so the town was packed. Once we got down there we checked into our hotel, got our race packets and then went and drove the route. There was so much up and down that it was hard to tell if it was going to be mostly up hill or down hill. I was getting so stressed just thinking how long it seemed. We then went for our last meal and then to bed at 8:30. Autumn said that it was the earliest that she has ever gone to bed.

The morning of the race we had to meet at the park to be bused up the canyon at 8:15 am. It was nice that it wasn't too early. The only bad part was that we got to the top at around 8:45 and the race didn't start until 10....... we still had over an hour and it was freezing cold!!! I think that they do it on purpose so that you are excited to start running.

I thought that it was both easier and harder than I thought that it was going to be. The first 10 miles went by really fast and I didn't even feel very tired. The last 2 1/2 were the worst. The first 10 1/2 were in the canyon, so pretty much once we got into the city I wanted to die.

When we got to about mile 11 people started cheering "you are almost there". Later when we were driving by that spot I wanted to yell to the people still running "you still have so far to go... give up now!!!!" The worst was when we rounded the last corner and I could see the finish. Instead of feeling relief that we were almost done... I wanted to die because I really didn't think that I could go any further.

But somehow I just pushed through and finished. I was so scared that if I stopped running I would not be able to start again so I never got a drink or used the bathroom.... probably not the smarted thing ever, but it worked for me.

Autumn was able to run the whole thing too!!! Which just made me mad because that meant that all of her whining, all those months of training, was on purpose. She of course just laughed about it. After running the half marathon my dad is certain that he can run a full marathon, no problem. He seriously wants to run a race very weekend. I am not sure that I can handle that, but I would like to run 1 or 2 more this summer. Overall.... it was a fun experience!

Me and Autumn showing off our awesome race clothes
the morning of the race...

my dad forgot his running shorts..... anyone else would just go buy some, but he said there was no need since he had a swim suit!!!

Neighborhood Fun

It seemed that no matter how hard they tried,
these 3 just couldn't get to the top all at the same time!!!!

Dakota has been in heaven since the weather started getting a little warmer.

There are 2 things that he loves to do 1. drive his jeep & 2. build "camps"

3 other kids on the street have jeeps and it is the funniest thing ever when they all get out driving around. We have had some serious jeep accidents!!!

Dakota's other favorite outdoor past time includes gathering any wood or rocks that he can find and making a little camp ground. He can pretty much get any kid to join in and think that it is the funnest game in the whole world. Let's just hope that he never figures out a way to actually light his camp fires!!!!!!

Happy St. Patricks Day!!!

St. Patricks day was full of fun at the Dunn household!!!!

My friend Lindsey had a little party at her house to celebrate and both of the boys had a blast playing with all of the kids.

The second part of the day was spent fixing an incident that took place while I was getting ready for the party....

Dakota found Scott's clippers and decided to give himself a hair cut!!!!

I have never been more happy that at this moment I only have boys. I just started laughing when I saw the little chunks of hair on the counter. Had he been a girl, I am sure that I would have had a melt down.

So this afternoon we headed over to Cookie Cutters to get Dakota's head buzzed. You can still see one of the spots, but I just could bring myself to go that short!!!!

Hopefully I convinced Dakota that it wasn't his greatest idea.... and that I would most likely murder him if he even touched Bridger's hair!!!

the BEFORE SHOT.....
& the AFTER!

Help????

So after what seems like forever of training, Saturday is the Moab Half Marathon!!!!

I have always wanted to run one, but have never thought that I could really put the time and energy into running 13 miles...... or is it 13 1/2, I really don't know.

I am getting really nervous about it to be honest. Last Friday me and my dad ran about 10 1/2 miles and I felt so, so sick after. Even my dad's dog started throwing up. I am scared that I won't be able to go another 3 miles, but most people that I have talked to only ran about 10 before running their race.

So.... that is where I need help from those of you that have ran long distances,

what should I eat or drink the morning of the race????

how much should I be running this week???

what should I eat the night before????

any other tips???

Happy Birthday Aspen

Today is a special day in our family.

My little sister Aspen would have been 9 years old today.

It is hard to imagine life with a little girl in our family.

It makes me wonder what she would look like?

What would her personality be like?

Would I argue with her like I do Noah & Hunter?

Would she tease my kids like the rest of my siblings.... or would she just want to play mom with them?

I am sure that she would be a perfect little angel, just as she is.

Thank goodness for eternal families!

Happy Birthday Aspen!

(back when Aspen was at Primary Children's they didn't have blogs as they do now, so I told my mom that she should just make one now to document her life. Anyone who wants is free to visit her page. You just click on her picture in my side bar.)

Dinosaurs

On Wed. Chantell and I took the kids to the Dinosaur Museum for the afternoon,
and of course had a lot of crazy, fun.
Dakota has been obsessed with dinos ever since.
He told me today that he wants to be a dinosaur for Halloween.
I told him that I would get right on that....

I love baby feet!!!!
Bridger was really nervous about the sand at first, but it didn't take long before he sat right down and dug in!!!

Chantell's little sis Chesney came along for the fun

Great Grandpa

My Grandpa Stoneberg (my mom's dad) was in town last week from Oregon. He had never seen Bridger so I think that he was excited to get to spend some time with the boys.

My Grandpa is a big time hunter, so before he came over I told Dakota that he has shot some really cool things.... like a bear and a mountain lion! Dakota then asked me...

"has he shot a pirate???"

I started laughing so hard!!!!

Here are some pics of Great Grandpa and the boys working on some puzzles.

what ever happen to the toilet????

Last night Scott and I were awoken to a strange sound of water running. I was too out of it to have a clue what was going on, but Scott jumped out of bed, ran over and swung open our bedroom door. Standing in the door way was Dakota, pants around his ankles, peeing on our door. Even after Scott started yelling at him he still continued to relieve himself.

Of course Dakota denied the whole thing this morning and stated that he was just pouring water on the floor.

Today I was giving Bridger a bath, when like usual, he decided to poop in the bath tub. While I was trying to clean up the mess (nothing more fun than soggy poop), Dakota called me into my bathroom saying that he needed his butt wiped.

Lucky for me, he didn't quite pull his pants down far enough and pooped all over them, along with the rug on the floor.

Dakota asked why I was laughing????? It kept me from crying!
