the 24th

We had a pretty low key Pioneer Day......
it consisted of a lot of yard work and cleaning,
but we did end the day with a neighborhood BBQ (which we ate Cafe Rio at)
and Fire Works!!!!
I don't think that any child on earth likes fire works more that Dakota...
it actually worries me a little bit because I know that at some point he is going to find a way to light something on fire!!!!

Dakota convinced all of the neighbor kids
that dipping tortillas is Ranch is the best!!!

Color Me Mine...

A few weeks ago my mom and me took Noah and Dakota to Color Me Mine.
I wanted Dakota to make something for Scott for his birthday....
but he was a little more interested in making his piggy bank/ tank.
We did make Scott a popcorn/ giant cereal bowl
and most importantly had a great time doing it!!!!

Happy "28" to Scott!!!!

Scott's 28th Birthday was last Friday while we were in Las Vegas,
so Monday night we had a little belated party for him.
Dakota was by far the most excited about it.
He decided that it was going to have a "bug theme"
and even caught a container full of grass hoppers to display on the table.
Scott really is the best husband and dad in the world....
and once a year I actually let him know that :)
But really.... it is nice to celebrate a day just for him,
even if he doesn't love all the attention.

Happy Birthday Scott,
the boys and I love you so much!!!!

Scott is not a big fan of Birthday cake,
so I decided to do an assortment of Kneaders Dessert for the occasion.

How evil does this little face look????

Las Vegas!!!!

I was so sad when our long awaited Las Vegas trip came to an end!!!!
We had so much fun and it was so nice to spend time just me and Scott.
Everyone has asked us what all we did on our trip and the truth is.....
we slept a lot; we ate a lot.
Sounds boring, but really it was amazing!!!

The one down side to the vacation was the HEAT!
When we arrived Thursday afternoon it was 120 degrees.
I really don't know how people can live there year around.

We stayed at the Trump hotel and it was super reasonable (because it wasn't right on the strip) and it was super nice! I would definitely recommend it.
I loved 2 things about the hotel.
It did not have a casino (yea, no smoke)
and Vallet parking was included in the price.
It was actually pretty funny because we drove my corolla and it looked pretty silly parked next to the Hummers, Mercedes and other amazing cars. I am sure that that vallet guys couldn't wait to drive our car :)

The first night we went out to this amazing Japanese
restaurant in Caesars Palace.
Over the past couple years I have become obsessed with Sushi and I was not at all disappointed.

The picture above was taken at a breakfast buffet at the Wynn.
The concert was also there in one of their theaters.

As for Garth Brooks.....
he was fantastic!!!!

We got 2 1/2 hours of nothing but him and his guitar.
Even with out his band he sounded exactly as he does on his CDs.
I was so surprised when he first came out,
his wardrobe consisted of jeans, work boots, a hoodie and a baseball hat.
I honestly thought that it was a joke for a minute.
One of the highlights of the concert was when Trisha Yearwood came out and sang a couple of songs with him. He also took requests which was so cool!
It was by far the best concert ever!!!

The gardens at the Belagio

My favorite thing about Las Vegas is the Frozen Hot Chocolates at Serendipity.
When it is 110 degrees plus.... nothing taste better!

For the next few days,

We will be here......

With him.......

and we could not be more excited!!!!

Lake Powell!

Last weekend Dakota and Scott went to Lake Powell on a "Boys Trip" with my dad and brothers.

Lake Powell makes me really nervous with little kids, but I finally felt that Dakota was old enough and could be trusted to listen and wear his life jacket. I still stressed and little while they were gone....

but he ended up doing great and everyone had a fun time!!!!

I was really surprised by how much Dakota loved swimming around in the lake. He is a little weary of water especially when he can't touch, but Scott said that he had no problem swimming around in the middle of the lake.

He also loved the tubes and jet skiis.

I was sad that I didn't get to see his first time at the Lake, but so glad that they had so much fun.

Noah and Dakota ready to go!!!!

"Rattle" the lizard.....

I have had these pictures forever, but keep forgetting to post about them....
Back in May Dakota and Scott brought home a lizard from their camping trip!
Some how we have managed to keep it alive for all of this time and surprisingly we haven't lost it either. Every week we go and buy a bag full of crickets, pour them in and that is about it as far as maintenance goes!!!
Dakota named him "Rattle" like a rattle snake.....
but the person who loves him the most is Bridger. He always wants to hold him and could seriously sit with him on his shirt for hours. The only problem is the fact that he could possibly squeeze it to death every time he picks it up.

a little on the LARGE size...

Today Bridger had his 18 month appointment, and it is official....
he is the largest toddler in the world!!!!!

weight: 33 lbs. 98%
height: 34 inches 89%
head: 19.5 inches 90.5%

Despite his massive size he developing great!!!!

Over the last month or so his talking has really taken off too.
He can pretty much say any word that starts with a "B" and the words that don't he just adds the sound to them.
That works for me!

Happy Independence Day!!!!

I don't know about anyone else, but this 4th of July seemed to go on forever!!!!
Ours started Friday night with a neighborhood BBQ.
We had a great turn out and had so much fun.
Thanks to Maggie who put the whole thing together....
she named it "The Culdesac of Fire".

I had to work all weekend (what is new, I know) so Sunday evening we went to my parents for fireworks. My mom bought a huge box of fireworks so by the end Scott just started lighting as many as possible at a time. It was also Hunter's 12th birthday so we had a little party for him.
Bridger was fine with all of the fireworks except for the para shoots. About 5 full seconds after they went off he would start crying and running for cover.

Our holiday ended Monday morning with Scott and I running the Freedom Days 10K in Provo. It was fun to have Scott run with me.
It seems like I always run a little bit faster in front of him!!!!

Here are some pics from our weekend of fun.....

Dakota got a special hair cut for the occasion!
